Deactivated L1A1 SLR (self-loading rifle) manufactured by Enfield. The classic British Army battle rifle from the Cold War, with all the versions of the FN FAL being 'the right arm of the free world'. Loved by those who used it, unlike the SA80 / L85A1 which replaced it in the late '80s.
 
This one is fitted with the highly collectable Hythe sight, named after the location in Kent it was designed in. The Hythe sight has a double leaf design to facilitate aiming in low-light conditions. Initially developed to help use the rifle in jungle conditions and then retained. 
 
 
This example has a moving trigger, working safety which locks the trigger, the charging handle moves under spring pressure, the magazine ejects and the rifle can be broken open. Comes with a correct new / unissued sling and three 7.62 inert rounds. Supplied with its GB / EU deactivation certificate from the Birmingham Proof House.
